Normally on any of my other devices, when I plug in a microphone, realtek software or windows will detect a completely separate device and have me verify that a microphone was plugged in. However sound will transfer over to the external microphone and the internal microphone will shut off. It was always called Realtek microphone nor did it spawn a separate entity in devices. The very confusing part is that when I plug the microphone in, windows or realtek doesn't distinguish it differently from the built in microphone. I promptly uninstalled the logitech software since I don't plan to use it with the usb dongle. Also all of a sudden I started getting errors that the logitech software was causing issues with the sound devices. I opened up the Nahimic software, went to the microphone tab and started seeing the audio detection moving.

I tried downloading the drivers directly off realtek site but it kept going into a restart uninstall loop.Īnyways, I ended up getting an error from Nahimic software saying that the driver was unsupported and all of a sudden it started working. (which was found on the official Nahimic facebook page). I am not sure how I got it fixed, as I've tried installing two drivers over and over, though I believe it still kept version 6. The whole system is a bit botched up, as in it's not normal like any other microphone jack. Some how I managed to get my microphone to work. Why is there no recognition of the microphone jack, and why won't any microphones get detected? In comparison, the speakers properties in playback lists Analog Jack and Rear Panel 3.5mm Jack. On the properties for the single microphone entry in recording, the "jack information" only lists Analog Jack. I have reinstalled/updated the Realtek drivers, but any external mic will still not be detected. I have uninstalled the Realtek Drivers, and have tried to test it with the default microsoft audio drivers, and that does not work.
Trying to configure the single mic entry sets up the built in one, which also happens to be very bad / quiet. Plugging in headphones works and shows the message. In the Realtek settings, "Enable Notifications when plugging in" is enabled, but nothing shows up when plugging in a mic. In the recording settings for sounds, the only available mics are the built in one, and Stereo Mix, even with the disabled and unplugged devices shown. Any external microphone when plugged into the Mic jack will not be detected.
